PSA Group’s Linda Jackson, former England Cricket captain Clare Connor and Bentley Motors board member Astrid Fontaine will appear in Autocar’s annual Great Women in the British Car Industry event as it goes virtual for 2020.
The event, now in its fifth year, will be held from 2pm on Septmeber 16 and takes place entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The industry initiative, which recognises key women and their achievements in the automotive industry, will begin with a live discussion featuring executive vice-president of the PSA Group, and twice former winner of the initiative, Linda Jackson.
This will be followed by appearances from Clare Connor, former England cricket captain and the ECB’s managing director of women’s cricket, and Astrid Fontaine, Bentley’s board member for people, digitalisation and IT.
A panel discussion hosted by Rachael Prasher, Haymarket Automotive’s managing director, will follow, with participants including Paula Cooper of Toyota, Alison Fisher of Cox Automotive, Robert Forrester of Vertu Motors and Katherine Zachary of Nissan Europe.
As part of Great Women, Autocar recognises the top 100 women in the industry across 12 categories with one overall winner taking home the top award.
The event’s 12 categories are: Design, Executive, Government Affairs, Manufacturing, Marketing, Mobility and Digital, Operations, People Development, PR and Comms, Sales – manufacturers, Sales – retail, and Vehicle Development.
There is also an Apprentice category sitting outside the top 100 that celebrates the individuals at the beginning of their careers in the automotive industry.
The event is hosted in partnership with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), and sponsored by Bentley, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), Nissan and Toyota.
